Eydigard is a folklore-inspired, third-person action RPG developed and published by Frostisen Studio. Released into Steam Early Access in April 2025, the game transports players to the mystical, plague-ridden fjords of Northern Norway during the early 16th century. In this historical fantasy setting, a relentless disease has devastated the land, turning once-prosperous farmlands into haunted ruins and allowing mythical creatures to claim the wilderness.

Players step into the shoes of a mercenary blessed with unique skin-changing abilities, allowing them to fluidly shapeshift into various animals. Each animal form introduces specific advantages for combat, stealth, or puzzle-solving, directly influencing strategic choices. The core gameplay loop focuses on exploring the open world, engaging with rival Norse and Sámi clans, and confronting legendary beasts like trolls, hulders, and vettirs.

A central mechanic involves reclaiming and upgrading abandoned, plague-corrupted farms to establish thriving settlements and bases. The experience is story-rich, emphasizing lore and community impact, where choices influence local factions and the regional balance of power. Eydigard can be experienced entirely solo or via online co-op, supporting up to six players who can combine their shapeshifting abilities to tackle greater challenges together.
