Aethermancer is an inventive indie roguelite RPG that seamlessly blends creature-collecting mechanics with challenging turn-based strategy. Developed by Moi Rai Games—the creators behind Monster Sanctuary—and published by Offbrand Games, the title launched into Steam Early Access in September 2025. Set within the atmospheric, dark fantasy world of Terastae, players step into the shoes of an Aethermancer, a powerful figure capable of bonding with mythical creatures to explore the ever-shifting Fractured Ruins.

The gameplay centers on tactical, grid-free turn-based combat where players manage a party of three monsters. Every decision is high-stakes due to a strict permadeath system; if a monster falls in battle, they are lost forever. However, you can defy ultimate defeat by rebirthing their souls, allowing your companions to return stronger with new traits inherited from their past lives. Combat requires masterfully manipulating the four elemental forces of Aether to break shields, inflict status effects, and exploit enemy weaknesses.
