Aphelion is a cinematic, story-driven third-person action-adventure game released in April 2026. Developed and published by Don’t Nod in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), the narrative is set in the 2060s as a dying Earth forces humanity to look toward the stars. The story follows two astronauts, Ariane and Thomas, who crash-land on Persephone—an uncharted, frozen world at the edge of the solar system—and must find each other while uncovering reality-bending anomalies.

For PC players, the experience splits into a distinct dual-perspective gameplay loop across 11 chapters. Playing as Ariane focuses heavily on high-stakes, momentum-driven parkour traversal, utilizing tools like a pathfinder, grappling hook, and oxygen tank to cross massive chasms and shifting glacial landscapes. Conversely, Thomas’s segments lean into slower, methodical survival investigation and puzzle-solving due to injuries sustained in the crash. Both perspectives require surviving tense, Alien-inspired stealth sequences to evade a terrifying, hostile lifeform stalking them through the snow.
